The people counting devices help the mall operator to monitor the footfall traffic coming into the mall, which area did they go, and for how long. This would allow the operator to allocate the right number of staff in each area. Footfall data is also helping them to justify the marketing event effectiveness and compare the effectiveness for different campaigns.
